Oakland Excited To Host 2019’s Pedalfest On August 3rd
Californian bicyclists are getting pumped for the upcoming 2019 Pedalfest in Oakland. Sponsored by groups like Bike East Bay and Bay Area Bicycle Law, this summertime festival will host dozens of bike-related shows and events all with the goal of promoting safe cycling in the Bay Area.
At Pedalfest, you’ll have the opportunity to work out with fellow bicyclists at numerous stationary and race events. There will also be a few e-bikes available for testing at the 2019 Pedalfest.
One of the most exciting events at the Pedalfest, however, is the amphibious bike race. Guests can also watch plenty of dramatic live bicycle and unicycle stunt shows on Pedalfest’s main stage.
But this event isn’t just for adults! Indeed, Pedalfest has many kid-friendly areas where younger riders can learn all about bicycle safety. In 2018, there was even a kids’ bike parade.
Before you leave, be sure to visit the Theft Prevention Photo Booth to get a complimentary serial number for your bike. This identification will make filing a report with local authorities a whole lot easier if anyone steals your bike.
All of the proceeds raised at the 2019 Pedalfest will go to help Bike East Bay in its mission to create safer streets for area bicyclists. You can learn more about Bike East Bay’s campaigns on this website.
A few other major sponsors of this year’s Pedalfest include Drake’s Brewing Company and John Muir Health. Kaiser Permanente, Port of Oakland, and Bay Area Air Quality Management District are also key sponsors of the 2019 Pedalfest.
The 2019 Pedalfest will take place on August 3rd from 11AM till 6PM. There are plenty of parking spots available around Jack London Square if you’re traveling by car. Guests could also use Bay Area Rapid Transportation, ferry, or the “Free B” Broadway Shuttle to get to this event.
