We Understand Cycling Makes the Bay Area a Better, Stronger Community

Our focus on advocating for and representing cyclists is based on the fact that cycling is good for the Bay Area community, the quality of life in our area, and the health and well-being of local residents and visitors.

Cycling contributes to physical and mental health, it protects the environment, it reduces traffic and brings people together. It blends sport, exercise, transportation, and entertainment in a unique way. With that in mind, our attorneys and staff work every day to protect their safety and their rights, whether on the road, through legislation or in court.

Bay Area Bicycle Law has a longstanding commitment to supporting local bicycle coalitions, bicycle teams, and other projects that work to make cycling in the Bay Area and California in general safer and more inclusive.

The SF Bicycle Coalition Education Fund

Of the many organizations doing fantastic advocacy for bicyclists in the San Francisco Bay Area, one that we have focused our contributions toward is the SF Bicycle Coalition Education Fund, which provides education, training and services to San Francisco Bay Area residents who ride bicycles as commuters, for exercise, or for recreation.

The SF Bicycle Coalition Education Fund makes a tangible difference. Donations to the fund are used to make San Francisco a better, safer place for biking, which in turn makes San Francisco a healthier, cleaner and more vibrant community.

The fund reaches into virtually all areas of Bay Area bicycling, and include current programs and projects such as:

    • SF CYCLES Campaign – Connecting Your City with Livability, Equity, and Safety
    • Bike It Forward program to distribute bicycles at no cost to people facing barriers to access
    • Free Urban Bicycle Education classes and how-to-ride workshops for adults
    • Freedom from Training Wheels training for small children
    • Professional driver education (commercial vehicles, city-car share organizations, bus drivers) on how to share the road safely with bikes
    • Bike to Wherever Day event hosting and promotion
    • Business consultation on how to make businesses more bike friendly

Join us in supporting SF Bicycle Coalition Education Fund; every donation makes a difference!
